My passion for telling stories began very early in life for me, through detailed drawings far beyond my age. Amidst childhood illness, learning difficulties, and developmental and behavioural problems, I discovered my passion for writing and developed my skills. I left school after year ten, and by ageseventeen I’d completed the Comprehensive Writing Course with The Writing School Australia.
By my eighteenth birthday I had written several short stories and rough novel manuscripts. At age 21, after three years of hard work, I finally published a biographical novel, written for my mother about my Grandmother, an extraordinary woman who battled mental illness for most of her adult life throughout the 1960s and 70s.After a bit of life experience working in several different industries, I have also developed an interest in non-fiction article writing, and plan to study editing and proofreading in the near future.
I have a network of family, friends and even a freelance editor Suzanne who read my work and give me suggestions and constructive criticism.
The world is my playground when it comes to writing.I often find myself coming up with creative, poetic descriptions about people on the train, and places and objects I see throughout the day. Some of my short stories revolve around people experiencing a uniquemoment in their lives, and others are more suspenseful.Sometimes the story may be inspired by a minor character I see in a movie, and I think that their story would be interesting to explore on it’s own.I am fascinated by human behaviour, and aspire to become a crime novelist. I also want to help other people who do not have the skill of writing bring their stories to the world.
It is a very exciting experience for me, and I’m enjoying every moment of my journey as a young writer.
